The full MBSR program is a 9-week program*, consisting of 8 weeks of meetings plus a free introductory session. There are no obligations to continue after the intro session.
Enrollment in the full program includes:
weekly, 2-hour classes
one day-long weekend retreat
instruction in formal/informal mindfulness practice
daily home exercises & assignments
personalized guidance, peer support, & group process
guided meditation & yoga recordings
workbook
*Note that we also offer abbreviated programs to fit semester schedules. Based on timing, some programs may have weekly meeting times shorter than 2 hours, and may not include a free intro session or a day-long retreat. Alumni participants are always welcome to join us at a later retreat date after participating in an abbreviated program.
Insurance: Unfortunately, at this time we do not accept insurance. We can however offer you a receipt of services which some insurance providers may cover under flexible spending and/or related health accounts.
Informed consent and "good fit": Please note that there are instances when MBSR is not appropriate for an individual. In our free intro session, we make sure our offerings are best suited to your present needs. If MBSR is not a good fit for you right now, we can help connect you with any support services you may need, and provide guidance for when and how you may reapply for our program in the future.
MBSR is not a replacement for clinical mental health therapy. Individuals facing the following conditions are recommended to have a strong mental health support team before beginning MBSR work:
recent history of substance abuse
severe PTSD
suicidal ideation
